Public. Service. Public. Service. Public. Service. Public Serving Broadcasting.
Ok, so this British twosome takes old public information films and archive material and turn them into cool ass indie songs. J. WILLGOOSE, ESQ. is the mastermind behind the group, and Wrigglesworth is the drummer, the glue. I found Public Service Broadcasting while looking up bands that played at a particular London Music Festival that I can’t remember the name of now, and they blew me away.
This extremely intelligent group has been steadily producing music since 2009, and finally their debut album is set to be released May 6, 2013. Mark that on your calenders. The guitars, drums, banjos, hand percussion and theramins are all played by these two magnificent bastards (I’ve always wanted to say that), and recreated live. Oh and did I mention that while all that great music is being played, they also have live AV Transmissions of the old archived public information videos on a big screen behind them. That would make one helluva show, I hope they come to the states, otherwise I’m going to have to go to London, and I really can’t afford that ticket right now. Anyways, PSBHQ just dropped a collection of new songs, and one of them is massively appropriate for our blog, Hear In Colors, plus it’s awesome. Here’s some new music for ya.
